Open Road On Cotton Tax Given

Washington, March 6.-(AP)- The House Rules Committee today voted to give the Bankhead compulsory cotton control bill legislative right of way in the House.

Chairman Jones, Democrat, Texas, of the agriculture committee, said he would seek early action.

The measure, giving the measure privileged legislative status, allows eight hours of debate, with amendments to be offered from the floor.

The bill would limit cotton production this season to 10,000,000 bales, and is designed to aid the farm administration's voluntary reduction program.
