Full Text

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 9.
The Americans and Republicans have fused their assembly ticket into one. A like course has been pursued in all the Congressional districts, except the fourth. The Press of this city are perfecting arrangements for procuring by telegraph and otherwise the returns of the elections in the Eastern section of the State on the night of the general and Presidential elections. They appeal to the Press at Pittsburgh to adopt similar measures for adopting returns from the counties in their vicinity, so that the result may be arrived at without delay. A general request from all the press to the judges of the election to count the State ticket first, will greatly facilitate the telegraph reports in the accomplishment of this object.
