The Decrees Revived in France
Extract of a letter from a French gentleman of veracity and information, to a mercantile house in this town, dated Nantz, 15th March, 1811.
TRANSLATION.
"Your flag has never been treated with more rigor. The decrees of Milan and Berlin are re-established.--There is a prohibition to admit any American vessel, or to suffer them to leave a French port, without a new order; it is also forbidden to speak to the emperor upon any subject relating to the Americans."
* Note.--The French gentleman uses this word because, as a Frenchman, he was compelled to believe the falsehood, that the decrees had been Revoked; though now re-established.
