W. J. BRYAN WILL VISIT WICKLIFFE
Will Speak in Ballard County Court House October 30 in the Interest of Democratic State Ticket--May Come to Cairo.
William Jennings Bryan, thrice a candidate for president of the United States, will speak at Wickliffe, Ky., Oct. 30, at 8 a. m., under the auspices of the Kentucky State Democratic Central Committee in the interest of former Senator James B. McCreary, candidate for governor and the entire ticket of his party.
The meeting will be held in the large auditorium of the Ballard County Court House and promises to attract the largest crowd in history, this being the first speech ever delivered by Bryan in that county, and there being no admission charge.
Chairman Miles Frederick Gilbert of the Alexander County Democratic Central Committee will urge a large crowd of Cairo Democrats to attend the meeting. It is the intention of Mr. Gilbert to have them go to Wickliffe on the Three States, leaving here at 7 o'clock in the morning.
In the event that Mr. Bryan comes to or through Cairo, the same crowd of Democrats from Alexander county will escort him to this city and probably hold a brief informal reception in his honor at the Halliday hotel.
It is not known whether or not Mr. Bryan will come to Cairo but local Democrats hope he will be able to spend a few hours here.
