Tune:
"Marching through Georgia."
The democrats they gained the day in 1892,
And now they have the government, they don't know what to do:
They monkeyed with the tariff laws and put us in a stew,
While they were working for Grover.
Chorus: Hurrah! hurrah! we'll sing the jubilee;
Hurrah! hurrah! the country shall be free.
Silver and protection our battle cry shall be,
While we are marching to victory.
They gave us Coxey's armies, and strikes upon the road:
They gave us idle spindles and debts to pay in gold;
They told the silver miner not to work upon the lode,
While they were working for Grover.
Chorus: Hurrah! hurrah! etc.
They promised us the good old days should visit us again,
The days of old our fathers saw when debts were paid in grain;
They've brought them back upon us, idle thousands in their train,
While they were working for Grover.
Chorus: Hurrah! hurrah! etc.
We ask the idle workmen of this great and glorious land
To join with us in ousting them and liberate the land,
To start the idle spindles with Protection's magic wand,
While we are marching to victory.
Chorus: Hurrah! hurrah! etc.
