Full Text

In cases of typhoid fever it is absolutely necessary to be sanitary. All refuse from the patient should be taken away from the house and buried and lime or wood ashes thrown over it. Failure to observe these rules will endanger the health of the public and the proper authorities should see that sanitary rules are strictly enforced or they are guilty of neglect of duty. All clothing removed from the patient and bedclothes should be boiled and washed immediately; if they are allowed to remain unwashed any length of time the germs will undoubtedly be carried to other homes. Water used for drinking by those living nearby should be boiled. If care is taken typhoid fever will not be allowed to spread, otherwise the result may be disastrous.
