Rentch's mysterious disappearance continues to be the all absorbing topic of conversation on the South Side, and there are many rumors as to the probable fate of the young man.
One thing is certain-he never fell off the creek bridge. The bridge is guarded by a close iron fence, and it is simply an impossibility for any one to fall off the structure. If he was drowned he either climbed on top of this fence and jumped off, or was overpowered and lifted up bodily and thrown over the fence. The matter is still shrouded in mystery, but it is hoped that some new light may be shed upon it before the lapse of many days.
