WHAT A CHANGE

For the first time in thirteen years a Republican has been appointed and elevated to the Supreme Court of the United States.

More important than the matter of politics is the fact that former Senator Harold H. Burton has all the credentials that indicates that his judicial thinking is absolutely sound, unbiased, unprejudiced. In fact, this is about the first appointment Herbert Hoover sent out of office that has been universally acclaimed in Washington.

President Truman is entitled to kudos for having broken the chain wielded by his predecessor.

Let us hope that Truman has an opportunity to name several more successors to the present judges.
