Solemn Warning. A man who was sometime since confined in jail on a criminal charge, was released the 14th ult. and while on his way home called at a tavern in Granby, and there drank several times of spirituous liquors. From the time he left the tavern till last Tuesday he was not seen; then he was found by the wall at the roadside frozen to death. He had doubtless drank to intoxication. A friend has suggested a desire, that the sale of spirituous liquors of all kinds might be prohibited at a less price than a dollar a drop. We wish the legislature would make it a criminal offence to sell repeated drams to any body, more especially to men who happen to be in their cups and confirmed drunkards. There is no sight more revolting and no object more loathsome than a drunken man, and he who knowingly contributes to the spectacle, deserves the harshest rebuke which society can bestow upon him.
