Full Text

From the Northern Army we have intelligence by a gentleman direct from Plattsburg, which he left on Tuesday evening, last week, the 23d ult.; at which time the army were about 12 miles west of Plattsburg, on their march towards Sackett's Harbor, the different corps, with the artillery and heavy baggage coming up as fast as the state of the roads and situation of the troops would permit.

Gen. Armstrong was at Sackett's Harbor, 170 miles from Cumberland Head, or Plattsburg, where several uniform companies of the last New York draft had arrived, and others were approaching on the lake (Champlain.)

All the boats on Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence, near Sackett's Harbor, were taken up for the public service; and every movement indicated a serious and important attempt, the moment the arrival and concentration of the armies warranted the measure.
