CENTENARY OF METHODISM. — A general meeting of the members of the Methodist Episcopal church, in Baltimore, was held in the Light street church on Monday evening; the object more especially in view was to take the initiatory steps of joining with the Wesleyan Society in Europe, in commemorating in a suitable manner, the completion of the first century since the foundation of the Methodist church, which will take place in October next. The venerable Bishop Hedding presided, assisted by Bishop Waugh. The meeting was addressed by Bishops Hedding and Waugh, by President Durbin of Dickinson College, and the Rev. George C. Cookman of Washington city. The result of this preparatory movement was a subscription of six thousand seven hundred and fifty nine dollars.
