What is this article about?
A letter from Madrid describes political convulsions in the Spanish Consejo de Estado due to couriers between Madrid and Versailles. Authentic intelligence reveals England's dispute with its American colonies conceals a planned assault on Spanish American provinces by an assembled English armada of 24 battalions each of grenadiers, American infantry, Canadians, plus Indians, artillery, and marines at Boston and New York, convoyed by 14 ships of the line. Post-attack, Bourbon courts will receive justifications citing Spanish actions on Falkland Islands.

"Our Consejo de Estado is much convulsed with a Tremblement Politique: Couriers are continually passing between our Court and Versailles; for we have now authentic intelligence, that the English scheme of a quarrel with her American colonies is merely formed to conceal a Coup de Main upon the Spanish provinces in America. We have now undoubted information that the English Armada in America, which is there invincible, actually consists of 24 battalions of English grenadiers, 24 battalions American infantry, 24 battalions of Canadians, 6000 Indian light infantry, 3 battalions of artillery, 3 battalions of marine assembled at Boston and New York, where transports are ready, and will sail from the convoy of 14 ships of the line for the Spanish settlements. After the attack, we are informed, the two Courts of Bourbon are to be amused with the agrements of manifests, of memorials, of pieces justificatives to the powers of Europe. That self-defence, after the violent, arbitrary conduct of Spain, during profound peace, respecting the settlements of Great Britain upon Falkland's Islands, demand such caution and prudence from the Court of London."

The Spanish Consejo de Estado is convulsed with political turmoil as couriers pass between Madrid and Versailles. Authentic intelligence indicates England's quarrel with its American colonies conceals a planned sudden attack (Coup de Main) on Spanish provinces in America. Undoubted information details the English Armada in America, invincible there, consisting of 24 battalions of English grenadiers, 24 battalions of American infantry, 24 battalions of Canadians, 6000 Indian light infantry, 3 battalions of artillery, and 3 battalions of marines assembled at Boston and New York. Transports are ready, to sail under convoy of 14 ships of the line to the Spanish settlements. After the attack, the two Bourbon Courts will receive manifests, memorials, and justificatory pieces to European powers, justified as self-defense against Spain's violent conduct regarding British settlements on Falkland's Islands during peace, necessitating caution from London's Court.
