Mrs. E. N. D. Hatch, worthy matron, and Ross Tilton, worthy patron, are to be succeeded by Mrs. Leslie McConnell as matron, and W. F. Hart as patron.
Balloting was exemplified Friday night and later the chapter surprised the outgoing matron and patron by presenting them with handsome gifts. Mrs. H. T. Miller singing an original song in their honor.
Mrs. B. R. Purdy was in charge of the arrangements in the banquet hall. Tables were covered with old newspapers. Mrs. Purdy announcing that in view of the approaching installation the chapter would have to save its money and have a hard times party. Decorations were in keeping with the theme, each guest having as a favor a raw potato in which was stuck a toothpick bearing a humorous descriptive caption. Mrs. Purdy's ready wit contributed to the entertainment for the evening.
The meeting was one of the best attended of the year with a number of guests present for the occasion.
Mrs. Hatch and Mrs. Tilton will act as installing officers next Friday, the installation being set for 8 pm. in the Masonic temple, and being open to those interested in witnessing the impressive ceremony.
