Worthy of Universal Reprobation.
"Chancellor Turner refused to grant an injunction against the Lake Washington Bank. Judge Collier refused to grant an injunction against the Vicksburg Water Works Bank. Judge Shattuck refused an injunction against the Bank of Grenada. All these Judges are whigs. They appear to think that banks can do as they please, and are above all control. Kentucky, about twenty years since, by a legislative act, repealed the charters of about forty banks."
The above remarks are from the Mississippian of the 20th ult. We know nothing of the merits of those judicial decisions. But we denounce, unreservedly, and hold worthy of universal reprobation, the spirit which dictated the above paragraph.
up to the indignant execration of all good law-abiding citizens, a base attempt to bring the Judiciary of the country under the ban of party political divisions, and endeavor to make party politics influence the action of our high courts. This is what we call loco-focoism, that cannot be mistaken.
