Leave as quietly and quickly as possible. All ranks must also be careful that they do not speak to any woman white or colored on the public highway or in any public place. On no account must there be any attempt at friendship with a white woman whether she is willing or not.
7. These restrictions are difficult to understand to us who have been used to more freedom of movement but it is hoped that arrangements can be made to ensure that you will be able to have reasonable freedom of movement and facilities for recreation similar to those you could have in your own island and colony. These arrangements will be made known to you as soon after your arrival as possible.
Above all remember that the honor of your regiment and your island rests on your shoulders and that if you conduct yourselves properly and only go where you are told you should have no cause to regret the time spent in the USA, the instructions concluded.
