Story Details
Mr. James Perkins, mate of the sloop Falmouth under Capt. Goodhue, sailed from Ipswich on April 20 bound for Dominica. The vessel sprang a leak on April 25 in lat. 36 long. 63, leading to cutting the mast on April 23, and sinking on May 9 in lat. 30 long. 59. The six crew members took to the boat with necessaries and after 28 days arrived at Monte Christ in good health though fatigued.
