SPAIN AND HER COLONIES

The latest letters from Cadiz, Bilboa and Corunna, inform us, that the South-American privateers continue to commit great ravages on the whole of the coast of Spain. Ten more vessels have been captured near Cadiz, and such, we rejoice to learn, is the state of Ferdinand's Treasury and Navy, that not a vessel of war is ready to protect the trade, or revenge the insults offered to his flag. We trust his want of means will continue, at least until the Patriots of South-America secure their independence. Some vessels loaded and loading in Cadiz, bound to Vera Cruz, Havana, &c. have been waiting for convoy, and the government has at length consented to grant the frigate Sabine, for the use of the merchants, but they have to caulk, victual and navigate her at their own expense.--The greatest fears were entertained for a vessel from Vera Cruz, with half a million of dollars on board; she had been missing for several weeks. We hope the Patriot privateers will give a satisfactory account of her.
