Eds. Advertiser: The Fourth of July
Celebration on Saturday the 3d inst.,
called a goodly multitude to our city.
The oration by O. E. Aldrich of Wyoming
was excellent. It abounded in hits
at the times and memories of days gone
by. The "Whangs," under command
of Fred Hecht, Esq., were among the
principal features of the day; and called
forth the admiration and excited the
mirth of the crowd to a high degree.
The younger portion of the people
sought enjoyment at the "Bowery"
where dancing was prolonged till a late
hour.
