Mayor Hears Several Cases
Garland Woodlier was given six months on the roads today in city court by Mayor Henry T. Powell, after Rowland had pleaded guilty to theft of $5 from Herbert M. Jones.
Carl Stewart, Negro, pleaded guilty to being drunk, and prayer for judgment was continued upon payment of the costs.
Ronnie Williams, Negro, pleaded guilty to theft of four pairs of ladies' hose from Leggett's Department Store, and was given 60 days, suspended upon payment of the costs and showing good behavior for the next two years.
John D. Hurd pleaded guilty to being drunk, and prayer for judgment was continued upon payment of the costs.
Willie Edwards, Negro, faced the court, charged with being drunk and disorderly. He pleaded guilty, and prayer for judgment was continued upon payment of the cost and Se to E. A. Jordan.
Prayer for judgment was continued upon payment of the costs as to Hallie Brodie, Negro, charged with assault.
A. P. Barnes was required to pay $2 as traffic fine for violation of a city traffic rule.
Frank Ellington was guilty of being drunk, and prayer for judgment was continued upon payment of the costs.
