Full Text

Signs of the Times in Regard to the Presidential Election.

The New York Herald is not a Democratic paper. It has more sources of information, perhaps, than any other paper in the United States. At first, when Seymour and Blair were nominated, and until the last few days, the Herald was loud in predicting a Radical triumph. Now, however, since the Kentucky and Montana elections, and the strong demonstrations of support to the Democratic candidates appearing in the North and West, the Herald admits that a great revolution is going on and that the Radicals will fail.

Besides these admissions of the Herald many of the Northern Radical papers acknowledge their fears of defeat, whilst the Democrats everywhere seem confident of success.
