PHILADELPHIA, April 9.

By the United States in Congress assembled, April 4, 1783.

Resolved, That the several States be required to suspend all enlistments for any regiment or corps in the army of the United States, until the further order of Congress.

CHARLES THOMSON, Sec'ry.

In consequence of the memorial presented to Congress by the committee of officers of the army, that honourable body, on the 22d ult. resolved, That such officers as were promised half pay during life, shall receive, instead thereof, the amount of five years full pay in money, or in securities on interest at six per cent. per annum, as Congress shall find most convenient.
