Mr. David S. Earl, whose farm lies near Liverpool in this town, raised more than five hundred bushels of oats from 7 acres of land—being more than eighty bushels to the acre.
Mr. John Ross, of Otisco, had sixty-eight bushels of barley per acre from a piece of land which had been sown with the same crop for six years in succession and which at that time has yielded less than it did the first season.
The barley crop in the town of Pompey is estimated to have yielded the farmers of that town more than $60,000.
Our farmers are all getting rich, and farms are held and sold at high and rapidly increasing prices.—Onondago Standard
