HARTMANN, the Russian Nihilist who attempted to kill the late Czar, arrived in New York last week, and has furnished the newspapers with some of the reasons that caused him to act the part of an assassin and murderer. He will never convince the American people that the man who becomes a professed murderer is worthy of the high privilege which our countrymen are so proud of enjoying. The great mass of our foreign-born countrymen have left their homes because they hoped to enjoy more liberty in America; but in all the millions that have done so no assassin has been found to be among their number.
