Baltimore, Sept. 26.
Captain Bird, of the schr Ontario, a regular packet between this city and N. York, states that on Thursday last, while coming into the Capes, and when about two miles to under Danish colors, this was done on by a patriot brig (supposed the Washing-) without being hailed or receiving any previous information from the brig. The shot passed close under the bow of the schooner. Capt. B. continued his course up the bay, after the latter filled away and came into lot boat go alongside the brig--and soon and before he got out of sight, he saw a pi- Hampton Roads.
