MONOPOLY AND SUBSIDY.
The sublime impudence of the Galveston News in attempting to compel news dealers to handle that paper to exclusion of other Texas and St. Louis dailies is the latest sensation. The idea of compelling a news dealer to enter into bond not to sell any other paper but the Dallas end of the News is as preposterous as it is ridiculous. Monopoly has had its day in North Texas, at least, and the enterprising solicitors of the News will have to carry their indemnity bonds to some other portion of the State to obtain news dealers gullible enough to sign them.—Fort Worth Gazette.
