DEPENDS ON WHO IS HIT.
It was all right for the supreme court of California to refuse to permit the Taft people to place Taft electors on the California ballot, thereby disfranchising all regular republicans in that state so far as presidential electors were concerned; but, when the supreme court of Idaho, for reasons it thought good and sufficient, ruled the Roosevelt electors off the ballot in that state, that court merited the most vicious condemnation. This is the view taken of the action in the two states by Colonel Roosevelt and his followers.
Yesterday, in Chicago the Idaho court was called all kinds of bitter names by Roosevelt, Perkins, et al, for ruling off the Roosevelt electors: but only praise was heard for the California court that ruled out the Taft electors. Consistency! Consistency!
