They were Donald Eugene Nickelson, 26, of Crawford County, who was serving one to twenty years for operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent and Vaughn Holland, 24, of Greene County, who was serving a one to fifteen year sentence for burglary.
London police received a stolen car report at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning from Mr. Earl McClaskie, who resides at the corner of South Main Street and Lincoln Avenue. Night police reported seeing the auto in front of the home at approximately 3:20 a.m. Police theorize the escaped convicts may have stolen the car as the times seem to coincide.
The total escapees in recent weeks now number eight. All of the others walked away from work details, however, and these two are the only ones to leave the honor camp, which is unusual. Two of the other men were captured in Gallia County and held on charges there. Six of the men are still at large.
