Full Text

The Philadelphia Franklin Gazette says, seventy-five persons were buried in this city last week. Three of them are reported to have died of the malignant fever: yet we do not find that there is any alarm in town, nor can we learn that any particular neighborhood is infected. If the warm and heavy weather should continue much longer, our city can hardly expect to remain free from the disease which has produced so much alarm in New-York and Baltimore, and so much mortality in one section of the latter place. Our hope is, that the frost will commence early in October, and prevent the fever from extending. The occasional cases which have occurred are not considered any cause of serious apprehension.
