Man Jailed For Theft Of Shoes

William Henry Johnson, 29, of 286 Oxford was arrested by St. Paul police officers Erhard Kaase and James Truso after he walked out of the Hill Brothers Shoe Store, 1082 University without paying for them.

The clerk at the shoe store told the police officers that Johnson, came into the store about 2 p.m. on October 3, and tried on a pair of shoes. After finding a pair to his liking he put his old shoes in the box and placed the box on the shelf and walked out of the store.

Johnson appeared in St. Paul municipal court on October 4. and the case was set for disposition on October 27.
