Two scientists, Harry W. Richards of the University of California at Berkeley, and Carl Anderson of Heywood, California, will leave on the SS Alaska in order to be in Berkeley when school opens Oct. 1.
The two scientists have spent the summer in the interior and spent some time studying the Manley Hot Springs on the Tanana River.
Richards' son William remained at the Hot Springs. Richards was reluctant to talk about experiments he is conducting at the University, but he did say he is working with serums and radiation in experiments on control of human growth. They have grown rats as big as cats.
