Propositions Under Discussion.
One of just such enthusiastic mass meetings as precedes the growth of every town into a city is in session this afternoon at the United States courthouse. The urgent call was made by Mayor Dick and the people liberally responded.
Owing to the lateness of the hour for which the meeting was called a complete report of the proceedings cannot be published today. This is a period in Ardmore's history where we are given an opportunity to set the wheels of progress moving.
Here are a few of the questions that are now before the people: The matter of securing Santa Fe shops and also the Frisco shops, building of bridges on roads that lead to Ardmore and securing the Federal jail site. Also a matter of general interest to the Indian Territory will be discussed and that is the present trend of congressional territory legislation.
In all probability resolutions will be passed endorsing the Nelson bill which provides for single statehood and endorsing the resolutions sent out by the people of Ada.
