Full Text

It is said some very judicious persons have given it as their opinion, that a late petition contains too many grievances, which will never be admitted as such, if referred to a certain House. And wagers are offered, that three worthy members of that House will be expelled, and sent to the Tower. But these are dangerous applications, are likely to fester the wound, which many are of opinion is already given our constitution. The affair of the seven bishops, and its consequences, are perhaps too recent in the minds of the Ministry, to permit them to proceed to such extremes. It is hoped also, that the livery will on the 24th instant, show that they are not to be considered as the worst of slaves now, and curst by their posterity hereafter.
