Recruit Margie J. Hinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvie D. Hinson, Route 1, Chadbourn, completed eight weeks of basic military training Jan. 25 at the Women's Army Corps Center, Fort McClellan, Ala.

Recruit Hinson received drill and physical fitness training and instruction in Army history and traditions. She also received counseling and testing in various career fields to provide a basis for future training and advancement in the Army.

She was graduated from Williams Township High School, Whiteville, in 1960.
