Restitution.-Since the multiplication of Religious Periodicals has brought out the church more than formerly, to public notice, cases have been constantly appearing of individuals under the influence of divine grace, coming forward to make restitution for wrongs before committed. In a late Philadelphian, we observe an acknowledgement by Wm. Graydon, of Harrisburg, Penn. of $5, to be restored to an estate of which Mr. G. is executor. In a New York paper, we find a letter lately received by a firm in that city from a young man who states that about five years ago he stole from their store a locket-at first his conscience troubled him: but as he did not take the locket for himself, his trouble soon wore off. Afterwards the youth made a public profession of religion. He says,

"Somewhat about a year after I had joined the church, when I was thinking over my past life, the Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance the locket, and I felt condemned for the act. I resolved to make restitution as soon as I could."
In the course of my religious life, this sin came up before me, and has troubled me ever since. I knew not what to do; it was not in my power to pay for it, neither had I any means by which I could honestly get it, as I thought, but God will not suffer me to rest in my sins, but has shown me with a very little self-denial, that I could pay it, and might have done so long ago. I send $5 enclosed in this note.
