FROM THE ENEMY IN OUR WATERS.

A gentleman of this city, who left Annapolis, on Sunday evening, at five o'clock, has handed to us the following statement of the position, of the vessels composing the enemy's fleet, at that hour. There were below Annapolis, between Kent Point and Poplar Island, one 74, one frigate, one schooner; between Thomas's Point and Poplar island, under way, one 74; above, Annapolis, between Sandy Point and Magothy river, two seventy-fours (one of them the admiral's ship) three frigates. two brigs, three schooners, one sloop ; above Magothy, one frigate, one ship and one brig—making, including smaller vessels, tenders, &c. more than 30 sail, not including numerous barges.

Our readers will see, in another part of the paper, that the enemy have taken possession of Kent island, and appear to intend to maintain that position.
