Full Text

Killed By an Accident.

Yesterday morning about eight o'clock while at work upon a scaffold repairing a seed house at the oil mill, Dick Aikin, colored, accidentally fell to the ground something like sixteen feet we learn, and received injuries from which he died about four o'clock in the afternoon. Several ribs were broken and an arm near the wrist.

Drs. Kittrell, Abel and Reed did all that was possible for the sufferer, but to little purpose, as his injuries were fatal.

Aikin had been at work at the oil mill for several years, as a press man when running, and in repair work when mill was idle; was a very good negro and worker.
