VERN NEWS
The Sell Lake Young Peoples meeting at the church last Sunday evening was well attended. The program included a song by the audience; devotion, H. E. Bode; reading, Miss Myrtle Aune; song, audience; reading, Lloyd Felt; solo, H. E. Bode; reading Mrs. Mary Viet; song, audience; doxology; collection $5.45. The next young peoples meeting will be on Father's day, June 16, at Alida, exchange program. Committee, Mrs. Mary Veit, Mrs. Prescott and Vivian Felt. Serving committee Mr. and Mrs. Charles Veit, Glen Seaberg, Albin Thompson, Helmer Peterson, Olga Bakke.
Sunday school last Sunday had an attendance of 23 and collection of 47c. Sunday school next Sunday at 10 a. m.
The Girls Co-Aid meeting at the Mrs. Wastweet home was not so well attended. The collection amounted to $1.45. The next meeting will be announced later.
Miss Anna Tweite was an overnight visitor at the Vivian Felt home Saturday.
Miss Mayme Sauer was a week end visitor at the J. Wastweet and Oscar Pearson homes.
Marvel Wastweet called at the Axel Felt home Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Martin Bakke is at the Park Rapids hospital.
Mrs. Carl Gustafson and two sons left for Kensington last week to visit her sister for some time. She accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Vassy Blare who have been here visiting at the Gustafson home.
Axel Felt, Andrew Bergquist and Dillard Wastweet are employed at the Itasca nursery.
The oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Seekalla has been confined to his bed for over a month. He is improved at this writing.
Visitors at the J. Wastweet home Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sauer and family Ted Tibbet, Mr. and Mrs. Erick Wallin, Ellen and Kenneth and Vivian Felt, Earl, Raymond and Florence Pearson. It was the birthday anniversaries of Mrs. J. Wastweet, son Clifford Wastweet, and Miss Lorraine Sauer. There were 3 birthday cakes and ice cream.
Miss Florence Pearson and Mayme Sauer were supper guests at the J. Wastweet home Sunday.
Miss Berthina Lindgren who has been at Bemidji for several weeks assisting her sister Mrs. Joe Thuney returned here Sunday.
