Postmastership Conference Held At Washington

Supporters of Different Candidacies Here See Weaver Monday

WASHINGTON, Feb. 6. (UP).
Four Hendersonville men—Otis V. Powers, R. L. Whitmire, J. H. Yelton and Ted Ray—were in Washington yesterday in conference with Representative Zebulon Weaver and other members of the North Carolina delegation. It was understood they were especially interested in the postmastership of Hendersonville which is to be filled soon by appointment by Representative Weaver.

Advices from Hendersonville said Powers and Whitmire favor the appointment of R. L. Edwards and that Yelton has been supporting J. F. Brooks. Ray's attitude was not indicated. Edwards, E. W. Ewbank, Brooks and T. Lee Osborne are understood to be the leading candidates.
