Last evening his Excellency Brigadier General Montenegro, Knight of the Order of Christ, and Governor of Valencia da Miano, arrived in this city from the Brazils; on his arrival he called at Mr. Woolmer's, where he was waited on by some merchants in the Portuguese trade, and expressed himself highly gratified with the marks of attention paid him: he went off this morning for London, having despatches from the Prince of the Brazils for the British government. Just before his departure from Rio Janeiro, 700 mules, laden with gold and silver, arrived at that place.
