At the meeting called of all interested in golf in the community, a fair sized crowd turned out in spite of its being an inclement evening. The chief business on hand was the electing of officers for the club, the following being elected: L. J. Nieweehner, president; Geo. H. Teut, vice president; and J. D. Carmasie, secretary-treasurer. G. J. Brendveld and C. R. Hatfield were named as members of the executive board to act with other elected officers. A grounds rules and by-laws committee, consisting of K. C. Duvall, chairman, J. K. Mimush and Geo. H. Teut was named. A discussion of membership fees was held, it being agreed to raise the fee after June 1. In addition to the membership fee, there will be annual dues, the amount of which has been left for the committee to determine. There has been a great deal of enthusiasm displayed in the organization, around $800 having been collected in membership fees to date. The work of fixing up the course continues many of the members turning out to help clear off and level the greens. There is a keen interest in learning the rudiments of the game, the women of the community showing up for practice in as great numbers as the men. It won't be long before we'll be having some championship matches.
