James Porter and Joseph Chaney, colored, for fighting and disorderly conduct at Fishtown, were fined $15 and costs each, and put on the chain gang until the same be paid.
Albert Simms, Robert Blackburn, Andrew Henderson, Henry Jenkins, Charles Thompson, William Lee. Charles Taylor, Robert Cupid, Randolph Williams and Ellen Posey, colored, for riotous conduct and attempting to rescue James Porter and Joseph Chaney from police officers, were each fined $15 and costs, and until the same be paid will be kept on the chain gang.
James Porter, for stabbing Patterson Gathwright, both colored, some months ago, was committed to jail for further examination.
Richard Burnett, colored, charged with stealing cigars from Timothy Shaunessy, was committed to jail for thirty days, and fined $10 for resisting an officer.
Joseph Moxley and Nelson Bishop, colored, also arrested for stealing cigars from Mr. Shaunessy, were dismissed for want of evidence.
John Hart and Charles Evans, arrested as vagrants, were dismissed upon promising to quit the city forthwith.
Eddie Meades, an escaped prisoner from the chain gang, was rejoined to that command.
Charles Richards, colored, charged with robbing the barber's shop of the City Hotel, was locked up for examination.
Thirteen lodgers, among them one woman, were accommodated at the station house last night.
