GOUVERNEUR MORRIS'S "ORATION."

"It is done-the agony is over -the Bourbons are restored." This was the bold onset of Mr. Morris's oration yesterday. But he did not tell us how far the-restitution of the Bourbons was to extend, and whether the hon. Gouverneur Morris himself is to restore the furniture of the unfortunate Louis XVI, he purchased for assigns. No doubt the patriotic orator will deliver up the gorgeous plate, the splendid tapestry, the rich table service, the noble clock, &c. &c. formerly belonging to the royal household, and gotten by him from the regicides for a song! If "the king must have his own again," surely the plunder of the Thuilleries must be embraced in the general restoration-+and the royal orator find the agony not quite over yet!

It is not done. The agony is not over. The fleet and armies of England are restored and delivered from their occupation in Europe, to pour out their vengeance upon our shores, and cover our soil with blood and fire. To meet them, an hundred thousand freemen rise in arms; and when they come, the tories and hypocrites of Boston and their celebrating brethren will find the agony but begun. The enemy must be repelled, and their adherents put down. If we must combat two foes, the nearest must be conquered first. When, in the language of the slaves and advocates of Britain, the national existence is at stake, the government must be supported, in whose hand soever it may be. The executive must not be crippled, the public measures thwarted, and the enemy aided by paralyzing the national defence. Let the conscience-stricken factionist look to it. We cannot have our hands tied while the enemy cuts our throats. If the heroes of Wellington, the great deliverer, the second Washington of the Boston orator, come as they promised, the extra-celebrations of his victories may bring back-cloth and ashes. We hope the storm will blow over, and honor's peace once more bless the land. But if the menacing tempest of war must be sustained, with the delivered strength and restored vengeance of the enemy, those who have prayed for this restoration and exulted in this deliverance must bear their part in the general lot--an American's or traitor's part--for or against their country, openly and unmasked. They will discover, what they have not yet seemed to realize, that we are at war with Great Britain.
