Carl Durham Early Riser At Washington

Washington. Jan. 6.-Representative Robert L. Doughton, of Laurel Springs, N. C., isn't the only early riser and early-to-the-office member of the North Carolina congressional delegation any more.

Doughton, who has made it a rule to be in his office by 7:30 a. m. since he first came to Congress 28 years ago, has a rival in Carl T. Durham, new representative from Chapel Hill, N. C.

Durham, a Chapel Hill druggist, is making a practice to be in his office by about 8 a. m.

"You see I am from a small town and am used to getting up early," he said.
