Oswald F. Sorel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonidas Sorel of 55 Walnut street, resumed his studies yesterday at Sacred Heart Seminary, St. Victor, Beauce County, P. Q., after spending the summer vacation with his parents. He left for Canada from Springfield, Mass., Sunday night.
Well known in the community the seminarian was guest of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Martin of Sturbridge, Mass., Friday night and on Saturday was given a surprise farewell party at his home with friends and relatives in attendance. He received a lounging robe and purse of money.
Guests were from Webster and Southbridge, Mass., Bristol, Fabyan, Quinebaug and Putnam.
It was estimated some 60 friends attended the farewell fete arranged by Mrs. Beatrice Ayotte of Southbridge, Mass., who was assisted by Mrs. Leo Sorel, Rita Ayotte and Rita Causabon.
