Montgomery's Outlaws Still At It.
LEAVENWORTH, Nov. 22. A public meeting has been called to sustain Governor Medary in enforcing the laws and sustaining order. It is rumored that the burning of Fort Scott is unfounded. The accounts of the murder of five men and capture of others who probably met the same fate are confirmed. Montgomery's band had plundered Paris, and arrested many citizens.
Montgomery to be Hunted Down--
Supplies for Kansas.
WASHINGTON, Nov. 22. Special dispatch to the New York Press. Gen. Harney's orders are to exterminate Montgomery and his band of marauders in the most expeditious manner. He will have five hundred troops at his command. There have been distributed from Leavenworth 76,000 pounds of flour, meal, beans and potatoes. Urgent applications have been received from twenty counties for immediate supplies, and thus far something has been done for all, bringing credentials. Six teams with provisions left to-day for Southern Kansas, whence most of the applications for relief.
