Sunday, January 21, the Mt. Elem Sunday School opened at the usual hour with Mr. Will Shoto in charge and Mrs. Leonia Terrell at the piano. All eight classes were well taught and the lesson was reviewed by Rev. Henry Shoto, with timely remarks by others present. Amount of collection was $6.41. The school was dismissed by Rev. E. D. Terrell.
Sunday at 12:00 noon, the W.M.S. met with Mrs. Georgia Taylor in charge. The devotion was led by Mrs. L. J. Duckworth. Mrs. Leonia Terrell, Mrs. Minnie Lee Watkins and Mrs. Millie Wallace. Presiding over the business session was President Georgia Taylor, who in her opening remarks expressed thanks to God for being able to assemble once again and for the other many blessings He had bestowed on her and the group. The sermon was delivered by Henry Shoto at the request of Rev. E. D. Terrell. His message was filled with the spirit and enjoyed by all. Money raised was $10.87. The president is grateful to all who take part in these services and extend an invitation to others to come each 3rd Sunday. Other officers are: Mrs. Minola Batt, First Vice; Mrs. Ruby Terrell, 2nd Vice; Mrs. Sarah Phillips, Sec., Mrs. Evena, Asst. Sec., Mrs. Aline Mae Cooper, Financial Sec., Mrs. Leonia Terrell, Chairman of Sick Committee, Mrs. Pearlie Lonie, Treasurer.
Visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Taylor on last Sunday was their daughter, Mrs. Ora Bell Pembleton who lives on Dalton Street in Jackson.
Mrs. Katie Quick visited for a time in the home of Mrs. Taylor on last Sunday. She reports an enjoyable time.
Sunday, January 28, is Pastoral Day, with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and Worship Service beginning at 12:00 Noon. Rev. R. L. T. Smith, Pastor, Mr. Will Shoto, Clerk.
Sick and Shut-Ins: Miss Julian Shoto, Mr. Wesley Taylor and Mrs. Pearlie Lonie. Prayer is asked for these and others.
