FORT LEE, VA.—The son of a West Jefferson, Ohio, resident was promoted to Private First Class at Fort Lee, Virginia, this week.
Pfc. Bill B. Biggert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Biggert, 126 E. Main St., West Jefferson, Ohio was promoted as a result of his "excellent work" as an armorer artificer for the 630th Quartermaster Graves Registration Company.
An armorer-artificer issues and maintains the company's weapons.
The 1948 West Jefferson High School graduate was a student at Ohio State University when he was drafted into the Army in 1951. Pfc. Biggert took his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and was stationed briefly at Fort Bliss, Texas, before coming to the Quartermaster Center at Fort Lee.
Pfc. Biggert is married to the former Miss Nancy Snyder of Springfield, Ohio.
