Silent Grove M. B. Church celebrated its Easter Program, Sunday morning, 7:30 A. M. with a beautiful and impressive worship Service.
The program committee was Mesdames Callie P. Jossell, Bertha Shegog, Rose Lee Jones, Chairman; Mrs. C. D. Jossell, Pianist. Sunday school was at the usual hour with Asst. Supt., Bro. Jesse Jossell, Jr., in charge. Remarks and the Evangelistic Appeal was given by pastor Gayden. Total offering $66.40 with Class No. 12 B. offering, $40.50, Mrs. Luvenis Polk, Teacher; Bro. Charles Hentz, Secretary. Bro. Ezra Towner, General Supt. 11:00 Worship Service was conducted by the Officers. The pastor presented Bro. Ezra Towner who has been called to preach and who delivered his first sermon which was spiritual and inspiring. After the sermon, Bro. Towner's son-in-law Rev. Eddie Hardy, Tutwiler, offered a soul-stirring prayer. A tasty dinner was served at the Church parsonage for Rev. and Mrs. Gayden and Mrs. Gayden's brother, Mr. Leonard Polk of Los Angeles, California. At 5: P. M.. an Easter Egg Festival was held for the children, which was enjoyable. Mrs. Rose Lee Jones sponsored this affair.
