General Wilkinson.--By a gentleman who passed through this place on Thursday last, just from New-Orleans; we are informed that gen. Wilkinson was very busily engaged fortifying the city, at the expense of seven thousand five hundred dollars per day!!! And that every individual is exasperated against him to so great a degree, that it was supposed he could not venture without the walls in safety. He was rolling in splendour and extravagance; and his table is as profusely furnished as that of any palace in Europe.
