Full Text
"O. p. Q." has addressed a long, interesting and learned letter to King William, something after the manner of Junius to George, but more complimentary, and less categorical.—He tells his Majesty that he is a 'wandering cosmopolite, an observer of men and nations, a lover of his species, a friend to civil and religious liberty, &c. but has not the honor to be one of his subjects.' Then he is not probably Colton, as we supposed. He is very anxious for the Reform, and warns his Majesty very eloquently against adopting the false creed of his Allies, and the Holy Alliance, that popular Governments are the judgments of heaven for the sin and disobedience of the lower orders!
On the whole the letter is a capital cut to crowned heads and corrupt hearts; and will have very little tendency to dishearten the metropolitan mobs!
